Annoying Things Nigerian Girls Do When They Wear Skimpy Dress
Whether you like it or not, this is Africa and Nigerians hold some of their African values dear to heart. No matter how enlightened and exposed you are, some things will never be seen to be right in our society.
With all due respect, it is beautiful seeing ladies who are savvy and fashion conscious; however, this culture of ours does not give girls the right to strut naked on the streets all because they want to turn heads.
Our ways of life are gradually changing because technological advancement has left its mark on our culture, we still have people in the society who are moralists to the core. These people are quick to rebuke youths that dress in ways that do not conform to the Nigerian or African style.
The older folks watch out for ladies particularly. This is because women play an important role in the society and they help raise children that will play significant roles in the nearest future. Also, the various levels of abuse women go through also make it important for them to be checked from time to time in order for them not to become victims.
Here are some of the things below...
1. Pulling Down the Dress
At this point, permit me to be as blunt as possible. It is really annoying seeing ladies who wear skimpy gowns and clingy skirts trying to pull their clothes down to cover their laps.
Now this is an act of cowardice; why in God's name will you choose to wear a cloth you are not bold enough to rock? You knew the material was short in the first place, yet, you wore it out.
Do yourself the favour of walking in the streets with your head high even though you cannot afford to take strides as you walk. Hahaha...
2. Riding Bikes With The Short Dress
Since you knew you will be taking a bike at one point or the other, why did you decide to pick an outfit like that?
It is always embarrassing seeing ladies trying to cover up while they are on the bike. We honestly cannot help not laughing when we see the stress these ladies go through when they try climbing these bikes.
They would have to beg the bike men to bend their Okadas before they can climb. Why stress yourself that way?
3. Using scarves to cover their cleavages
Please, is it by force to show flesh? Nigerian ladies are not daring one bit. They go for clothes that will reveal the parts of their bodies that ought to be concealed.
Their way of saving the situation is to have a scarf wrapped around them to cover the opened cleavages. If you are proud of your outfit then you should rock it without being ashamed.
4. Acting Like They Don't Know Why People Are Staring At Them
This is another silly thing girls who dress skimpily do. They know before leaving their rooms that their outfits will cause commotion, yet they end up wondering why there are so many people staring at them.
They look at these people like they do not know what they are staring at on their bodies. The innocence they feign in situations like this is annoying.
5. Revealing Underwear Because Their Pants Are Not Well Fitted
Why do some ladies go out with loose pants? It is irritating seeing grown up women show skin when they are getting down from a public transport system.
It makes one wonder why they cannot afford to buy a belt or use a rope to secure their falling pants. There is nothing smart about sitting down in the public and having everyone look at your underwear because you do not have a belt.
6. Removing Their Heels To Walk With Slippers
Many Nigerian ladies are guilty of this. One moment they will be seen walking with high heel shoes and the next minute they have switched to their slippers.
Is it by force to wear heels when you are not comfortable in them? Or is there some high heel competition that we are not aware of?
The bottom line is to be comfortable in whatever you wear. You do not have to be someone else; learn to be yourself. Create your own unique style and do the things that please you.
